After leaving the University of Chicago, Charles Stevenson helped found Web Design Group, Inc., an early web site development company in Chicago. Mr. Stevenson was ultimately promoted to Chief Operations Officer of that company, which reached annual billings of $3 million with over 60 employees. Web Design Group was sold in 2000 to a larger concern specializing in technology incubation, mergers and acquisitions.
Charles Stevenson oversees creative concepting and brand integration for many of Billups Design's clients as well as heading up the Rich Media department for our ecommerce clients. His balanced skill set includes interface design, interactive brand strategy and copywriting. His copywriting and visual concepts have appeared in United Air Lines online promotional banners, Command Transportation high-level messaging including tag line, and Mark Shale email campaigns. In 2007, Mr. Stevenson, along with his partner, Ted Billups, developed the brand for MeerMeer, a revolutionary web site browser-compatibility testing software application that was sold to Adobe Systems Inc. in 2008. In 2006, his multimedia product demo films were broadcast to thousands of ASAP Software customers worldwide, driving improved sales. Mr. Stevenson has won the prestigious American Marketing Association Outstanding Achievement Award in 2004, the co-recipient of the 2006 Horizon Interactive Awards Bronze Medal in e-Commerce, and most recently, the W3 Awards Silver Medal for Online Fashion Retailing.
