Resources for creating usable and accessible web sites
Below are a few resources to help keep a designer strong, efficient and focused! One thing to note - I'm astonished at the lack of quality in books on the subject, so I'm only listing web references here:
I'm skipping all of the obvious tomes like W3.org (see there I go and link to their web acccessibility page anyway).
- web usability and accessibility articles - I only wish I had the time to write all these great articles!
- Web standards checklist - this list is really great tool for anyone involved in a web site's existence
- A Gallery of Onscreen Help - over 200 screengrabs of actual help interfaces
- Interface Design Consistency Issues - especially dealing with buttons and links
- Paging vs. Scrolling - it's a race to see who wins, is speed the differentiator?
- Best Practices and Future Visions for Search - lots of downloadable articles on search, search and more search
