Build email lists with innovative strategies
There are some new and effective off-line ways to build email marketing lists that we researched online and found interesting. The imperative more and more seems to be, rather than spending an exhorbitant amount of money on buying or leasing huge database email lists that garner little or no return in most cases, companies are exercising patience and building their lists in-house. Many of these home grown strategies you've read before over the last two years, but new ideas keep coming...
Two examples of this have cropped up recently and are beginning to be adopted by many retailers. One is to place an email sign-up sheet by the store register or front desk that allows people to sign-up for periodic emails at the moment they are buying products or meeting personnel.
Another possibility is to place an email sign-up line at the bottom of charge slips. This doesn't take much time effort on the part of the customer which increases the likelihood they'll provide it.
Some retailers have even begun putting computers in their stores with their web site on display by default. My own pesonal observations at these stores over the last two years is that customers are actually stopping their browsing to explore the web site and even check it for prices and availability of products. A prominent email sign-up in this work space (on paper or on the compute screen) is yielding results.
