Web site's appearance matters
A heretofore unexplored aspect to web design is that of gender and preference. While designers have, since 1995, focused on everything from download time, functionality, and usability to ensure that their visitors are satisfied with their web site experience, only now are we beginning to consider other more ethereal aspects.
According to British researchers in Wales, women and men prefer different design layouts and themes. "Women seemed to like pages with more color in the background and typeface. Men responded better to dark colors and straight, horizontal lines across a page.
What this means to future of web design is hard to tell, but already at BillupsDesign we're looking at ways to consider such things as audience gender when designing our interface templates.
