It Goes to Eleven...
In the never-ending debate over how 'hot' web and multimedia designers are in their respective country's labor markets, there are no definitive answers. We've been the hottest kids on the block with plenty of slaps on the back, to the spurned drop-out who no one in the family thinks "will add up to anything." Are we making a comeback?
Thank goodness for the latest analysis from Coroflot.com, an online design community and job posting site. They've published the value-scale of 'rock-star-ocity' for web designers around the world.
In order of rank, it seems Hong Kong values its designers the most, the average making almost $93,000 per year. The U.S., though high in 'rock-o-licious-ness' for its view of web designers, is third globally, with an average yearly salary of slightly more than $57,000.
Check out this fun (though prescient) study.
