We'll miss Bob Bernard
We were very saddened to learn that Bob Bernard passed away unexpectedly this week. Mr. Bernard was a well liked figure here in the Chicago technology community who had a lasting and positive effect on many digital agencies around the city.
In 2000, we first crossed paths with his company at the time, Whittman-Hart, later acquiring US Web CKS and changing the name to MARCHfirst, which was a major player in the Chicago market and rapidly expanding markets across the country. He, and we, were then navigating the course as it was changed in Chicago by the arrival of Divine Interventures (anyone remember Andrew Filipowski?)and their seemingly limitless seed capital and ambition. We made different decisions, but ultimately, arrived at the same place...
We listened to Mr. Bernard speak on several occassions and always valued his unique insight and eternal optimism. Bob's vision and energy will be sorely missed in this city.
