Project Info
Objectives: Redesign entire HighSchoolSports.net site serving over 10,000 individual high schools around the United States. Improve usability for all new and repeat users of the site. Consult and execute for all new brand strategies. Integrate new technologies into newly redesigned site. Accommodate and execute partner advertisers' promotional needs.
Solution: Extensive site architecture performed to reorganize content and navigation in line with customer issues and business objectives (i.e. increase traffic and ad impressions). Key friction areas were researched and designed to relieve user issues and build rapport with internal decision-makers in areas such as a consolidated My Account, simpler Sign Up (w/ Tour) and Sign In processes, Scores, Schedules, Videos/Pics, FAQ, Contact, and multiple entry points for a very wide audience. Process included flows, use cases, wireframes, photoshop comps, built pages, integration with database and in-house dev team.
Results: Dramatically increased unique page visits while reducing customer service requests. Increase in advertising rates throughout the site. Solidified partner programs with Fortune 500 sponsors. Helped facilitate higher valuation of the highschoolsports / schedule star concern prior to purchase by Gannett Media.
